WINES AND SPIRITS

Context and challenges

The wine and spirits sector, which is part of fragile terroirs, is now facing major environmental challenges. Intensive viticulture leads to a high consumption of water and inputs (pesticides, fertilisers), which threaten soil quality and local biodiversity. Distillation and bottling processes generate CO₂ emissions – both for heating stills and for transporting products that are often shipped over long distances. In addition, waste management (pomace, lees, heavy glass packaging) weighs on local recovery channels. Faced with these challenges, the sector is turning to more sustainable practices: regenerative agriculture, controlled irrigation, renewable energy and lightweight or recyclable packaging.

Our support

Assess your environmental footprint

Our approach begins with a comprehensive study of your wine-growing or distillation operations, based on the analysis of your water, carbon and biodiversity balances. We consolidate your LCA data to accurately quantify water withdrawals (irrigation, tank cleaning), greenhouse gas emissions from your products and processes, and the impact on soils and surrounding ecosystems. This rigorous mapping reveals your "hot spots" and serves as the basis for any strategic recommendations.

Map the physical and transition risks of your value chain

Strengthen links with your partners

We study all flows to detect the risks of disruption and the levers of circularity (recycling of by-products, local sourcing, pooling of transport). More than a list of actions, we design a strategic assessment framework to prioritize high-impact initiatives and seal lasting partnerships with your suppliers. We help you to co-construct with each of your partners plans for continuous improvement of performance in terms of water management, GHG emissions and biodiversity preservation. This approach not only guarantees the traceability of your supplies (grapes, cereals, energy, bottling supplies), but also creates a dynamic of skills development and responsible innovation throughout your supply chain.

Putting your environmental commitments forward

we support you in integrating non-financial requirements (CSRD, CDP, labels) into your governance. We translate your environmental indicators into recognised metrics, structure your reports and prepare your communications for rating organisations and investors. At the end of this analytical and strategic course, you have complete support—dashboards, reporting guides, CSR narratives—to manage your sustainable performance and enhance your environmental leadership.
